S2-Hoist™
A retrofit monitoring system for two-post and four-post vehicle hoists. S2-Hoist™ converts hoist safety from a people-dependent process into a system-enforced control layer, and keeps the evidence.

The hoist is the highest-risk, least-monitored asset in the workshop. The pre-operational inspection, the single most important safety control, is still done on paper or not at all.
AS 1418.9:2024 and AS 2550.9:2024 set contemporary reference points for hoist design and safe use, including inspection, competence, maintenance and records. EV and heavy-vehicle loads add stress to legacy hoists. Most workshops already do the work. Few can show it consistently.
One module on the column.

The device, up close
Built for the workshop floor.
The control module mounts to the hoist column and needs no capital replacement of the hoist itself. It reads the hoist, controls lockout and lighting, and shows its state to the person standing at the controls.
- Status display with plain-language menus
- Six-key tactile control pad
- Status indicator visible from the bay
- QR code zone for shift inspections and sign-on
- Sealed connections for sensors, relays and network

Alarms and lighting
The state of the hoist, visible from across the bay.
A red, amber and green status beacon and under-hoist LED lighting run from the same controller. Alarms are visual and audible, so an unsafe condition is obvious to the technician and to everyone nearby.
Obligation. Enforcement. Evidence.
S2-Hoist™ is in prototype testing. These are the controls the system is designed to enforce and record.
Enforced pre-start inspection
A QR-based inspection every shift. Defects are flagged automatically and can block operation.
Programmable lockout
The hoist stays locked until the inspection is complete. Compliance moves from policy to enforcement.
Lift cycle counting
Full, partial and half cycles are counted from height logic, building a true record of use.
Load imbalance detection
Per-arm load sensing raises an alert when a lift becomes unevenly loaded.
Immutable compliance logs
Tamper-evident records, with images, hosted in Australia.
Alarms and lighting control
Visual and audible alarms, plus under-hoist lighting, from one controller.
Role-based web portal
Separate views for technicians, service managers and dealer principals.
Dealer-code authorisation
A QR identity on every inspection links each record to a person and a site.
From lift to insight.
Monitor
Captures lift cycles, load balance and system status.
Analyse
A secure cloud service processes the data and delivers insights.
Alert
Real-time alarms and lighting keep the workshop safe.
Act
Actionable data improves safety, uptime and efficiency.
Outcome
Safer workshops, reliable assets and better business outcomes.

Five layers, one record.
- Device
- Embedded controller reading load, height and temperature sensors. Drives the lockout and lighting relays, the status display and the inspection QR code.
- Communication
- Wi-Fi and MQTT over TLS to an encrypted broker, with a 30-second heartbeat.
- Cloud
- Message consumer and REST API, with a structured data store and analytics. Hosted in Australia.
- Application
- Role-based web dashboard for technicians, service managers and dealer principals.
- Security
- Token-based authentication, dealer authorisation and encrypted messaging. Architecture aligned to UN R155 and UN R156 principles.
- Status
- Prototype testing. S2-Hoist™ patent 2025906204 (provisional).
- Designed around
- AS 1418.9:2024, AS 2550.9:2024, the WHS Act 2011 and Safe Work Australia codes of practice.
“Aligned to” and “designed around” describe design intent. S2-Hoist™ is not yet certified to any standard.
One record, read six ways.
Chief executive and COO
Downtime avoidance and defensible asset intelligence across every site.
Service manager
Predictable uptime, fewer surprises and measurable bay performance.
WHS and risk officer
Enforced inspections and an audit-ready evidence trail.
Fleet manager
Predictable workshop availability and a low capital entry point.
Aftersales network
Data-driven workshop standardisation across the dealer network.
Underwriter
A quantified risk profile built on enforced safety controls.

Validation principle
A signal is not proof of safety.
S2-Hoist™ is intended to strengthen the evidence layer. It does not replace competent inspection, manufacturer instructions or required maintenance. We prove what the system can reliably observe before making broader claims.
