EVs Are Ready. The System Is Not. From Adoption to National Mobility Resilience

Australia’s EV challenge is no longer vehicle readiness. It is whether charging, energy networks, software, service capability, data governance and workforce skill are dependable enough to earn trust. The paper proposes governed shared accountability, the 6+2 Engineering Governance Model, a Productivity Adjusted Charging Cost method, six international case studies and a national readiness roadmap and scorecard.

Inside the paper

Three tools it introduces.

01

The 6+2 Engineering Governance Model

Six layers: vehicle, energy, infrastructure, data, people and economics. Two lenses: mobility security and national resilience, and domestic lifecycle and industrial capability.

02

Productivity Adjusted Charging Cost

Adds access, detour, queue, connection, dwell time and disruption exposure to the price of energy. It is a method, not a universal claim about charging time.

03

A readiness scorecard

Seven domains: availability, productivity, serviceability, grid integration, trust, resilience and circularity, reviewed through a five-phase roadmap.
